NEW YORK, NY – (December 3, 2021) – Rosa Mexicano Restaurants announces an official grand opening of its newest location at 251 East 52nd Street on the corner of Second Avenue on Tuesday, December 7th. While the restaurant had initially soft-opened earlier this year, it’s now offering the brand’s full elevated fiesta hi experience including signature menu items, cocktails, and margaritas to the neighborhood that had enthusiastically supported the brand since its inception in 1984.
“Josefina Howard, our founding chef, opened the first Rosa Mexicano in 1984 at 58th Street and First Avenue as a small neighborhood restaurant that won over loyal fans with its authentic Mexican cuisine, creative bar and spirits program, and signature warm hospitality, said President and CEO Jim Dunn.” “When we closed our original location one year ago, we did so with heavy hearts. Today, we are elated to announce the full return of Rosa Mexicano back to our neighbors in the Midtown East area.”
Rosa Mexicano’s new two-level restaurant, helmed by chef Judy Cooper, features dramatic design elements familiar to fans of the brand aimed at transporting guests on a unique culinary journey. There are various seating areas including total seating for 140, a 15-person bar, a private dining room for 30, and ample outdoor seating on both Second Avenue and 52nd Street.
The menu offers a contemporary interpretation of authentic Mexican cuisine featuring both beloved classics and innovative, sophisticated dishes that pay tribute to Mexico’s richly varied culinary regions. Rosa Mexicano’s renowned beverage program boasts over 100 varieties of tequila and agave-based spirits – and of course the restaurant’s signature frozen pomegranate margarita.
Rosa Mexicano is owned b, LLP who acquired the brand in March 2018.
“It has been our priority to grow Rosa Mexicano and this is the first step in the brand’s ongoing growth,” said Pericles Mazarakis, Managing Partner. “We have four additional locations throughout the northeast scheduled to open by Spring 2022.”
